South Surry Volunteer Fire Department
The South Surry Volunteer Fire Department commissioned ADA to design this new facility to replace their aging and outgrown existing building. The building was constructed immediately behind the original facility, allowing the original fire station to remain in service while the new building was being completed.
The fire station contains 3 drive through equipment bays accommodating 6 pieces of equipment, lobby, training room, kitchen, conference room, day room, 2 offices, toilets, laundry and gear room, equipment shop and 2 storage rooms. One equipment bay is designed as a wash bay. A storage mezzanine is also included in the equipment bay area.
