Wake Forest University Wait Chapel Renovation
Wait Chapel is the iconic identifying building on the WFU campus. Largely intact today from its 1953 completion, ADA was selected to lead its total renovation.
The work involves replacing the original wood windows, inserting motorized window shades, theater seat replacement, a reconfiguration of the original chancel into a space more supportive of multiple types of events, renovation and re-engineering of the original lighting, adding new restroom facilities, as well as replacement of the original plumbing/mechanical/electrical systems.
The programmatic theme of the renovation is to change the original look of the interior as little as possible so the building will look the same post-renovation as it did in 1953.
